TO THE BIBLE
Galatians 6:7
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
LET’S TALK
Will had formed a habit of always standing in front of his mirror and declaring, “I know who I am; I am a success; I am top class; the world is mine; I’m victorious, healthy, and strong every day of my life.” This intrigued Ralph, his bunkmate, who confronted him with this question: “What in the world are you doing?”
Will simply replied to Ralph: “Words are seeds; my life is the fruit of those seeds, and I’m speaking what I want in my life.”
In explaining the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:19, 18-23, Luke 8:4-8, 11-15, and Mark 4:3-8, 13-20), the Lord Jesus lets us know that words are seeds and what you sow is what you reap. If you sow the right words into your life and future, they’ll produce the right harvest. So, always steer your life in God’s direction for you with the right words.
You can’t keep speaking negatively and expect to have an excellent life. Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” Here, Solomon connects words with seeds, trees, and fruits. A wholesome tongue is one that speaks life, health, healing, righteousness, and abundance. That wholesome tongue is a tree of life.
Many unknowingly bruise their spirits by speaking words that are inconsistent with the provisions of the Gospel. This is why you must train yourself to talk right. Speak blessed words. Your life goes in the direction of your words. Colossians 4:6 TPT says, “Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.”
In other words, don’t speak idle, inoperative, and uninspiring words because you’d give account of your words: “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36). Your life today is the harvest of all the words you’ve been speaking. Therefore, always speak righteousness, peace, health, wealth, and joy.
