TO THE BIBLE
Matthew 8:16-17 AMPC
“When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick. And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.”

LET’S TALK
Have you ever seen someone step up for a friend, maybe taking the blame for something they didn’t do just to protect them? That’s exactly what Jesus did for you. Long before the Lord Jesus came to earth, the prophet Isaiah prophesied about a Saviour who would bear the sins of the world. The Lord Jesus fulfilled that prophecy. He gave His life as a ransom for many: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:27-28 NL).

The entire world was under the power of sin, captives to the devil and destined for spiritual death. We were legally bound, separated from God, and without hope. But everything changed when the Lord Jesus gave His life in exchange for ours. He served the claims of justice and paid the ultimate price to set us free, free from sin, from Satan’s control, and from the bondage of spiritual death.

1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust,that He might bring us to God….”That’s the beauty of substitution. He gave Himself that you may be free to serve God and live for Him. He was sinless, holy and righteous; and now you’re like Him: holy, righteous and sin-free. Colossians 1:21-22 says, “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.” This is amazing.

Now you see why we so rejoice as Christians and are forever full of praise and joy. It’s because of this message of substitution; He took our place of sin so that we may take His place of righteousness. Blessed be God! So now what? Take your place in Christ! Live the life He’s given you—the life of glory and excellence. Hallelujah!

PRAY
Dear Father, I thank you for sending the Lord Jesus to take my place of sin, suffering, shame and death and give me His life of righteousness and glory, prosperity and victory. I declare I’m free from the dominion of sin and Satan. I walk in the glorious liberty of the sons of God, living a life of excellence, dominion and abundance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
