TO THE BIBLE:
2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

LET’S TALK
Our opening scripture is one of the most astonishing truths at the heart of the Gospel. The apostle Paul writes, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV). These aren’t just words to inspire; they’re declarations of identity. The Lord Jesus didn’t simply bear your sin; He became sin in your place so that you would not only be forgiven but also be made the righteousness of God Himself. This is Christianity. This is the Gospel. We’re the expression of God’s goodness, kindness, grace, wisdom, power and glory.

To be righteous in Christ is not merely to do good things or live by moral rules. It is to be an expression of God’s very nature — His purity, kindness, justice and grace. This is what Jesus meant when He said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9 NKJV). He was the express image of the Father, the facsimile, the print copy or profile of the Father — the ultimate icon of God.

We are exactly like Him. 1 John 4:17 says, “As He is, so are we in this world.” Like Jesus, we are the expression of the will and character of God. That is one of the definitions of righteousness: the expression of the will and nature of God. Therefore, having been made His righteousness, we have the ability to manifest and express the will and nature of the Father everywhere—in every situation, in every event, and in every matter. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Romans 5:17-18
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

PRAY
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making Christ Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin for me, that I might become the expression of your righteousness, endowed with the ability to manifest and express your will and nature in all things. I unveil your goodness and excellence today, displaying your glory and power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
