“…You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
LET’S TALK
Our opening verse shows that you and I are royal priests; isn’t this just amazing? What do priests do, you ask? Well, the scriptures show us three important roles of the priest: he’s to offer gifts, intercede in prayer, and teach the knowledge of God. These are the responsibilities the Lord Jesus would have us carry out on earth, and by studying the writings of the prophets concerning the millennial reign of Christ and by looking at what Israel will be doing at that time, you’ll easily understand our roles as priests today.
The millennial reign of Christ—the one-thousand-year reign of Christ on earth—is the period of Israel’s restoration and their exercise of the Christ-life, which we already had throughout the Church age. Thus, the millennial reign isn’t towards the Church; the Church already reigned on earth for two thousand years THROUGH Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17) and will reign WITH Him in the millennial period.
So, when do we function as priests? When do we teach the knowledge of God, intercede for everyone, and offer gifts? NOW! Our priesthood is now! Revelation 1:6 says, “…Jesus Christ…made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 5:10 also says He has “…made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.” We’re in office as king-priests of God on earth.
He’s given us the responsibility to alter the course of events and happenings in our world today through intercession, sacrifices of praise to the Name of the Lord, and the propagation of His truth in all the earth. Glory to God!

And from Jesus Christ the faithful and trustworthy Witness, the Firstborn of the dead [first to be brought back to life] and the Prince (Ruler) of the kings of the earth. To Him Who [a]ever loves us and has [b]once [for all] loosed and freed us from our sins by His own blood, 6 And formed us into a kingdom (a royal race), priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the power and the majesty and the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

The king’s command is backed by great power, and no one can withstand it or question it.

PRAY
Dear Father, by your Spirit, I fulfil my ministry of intercession as a king-priest, unveiling the mysteries of the Kingdom to my world, and offering spiritual sacrifices to the praise of your Name. I declare that today, your Word prevails in and through me as I proclaim your righteousness and salvation to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Thank the Lord Jesus for making you a king-priest, and from today on, start functioning in your priestly roles of intercessory prayers, sacrifices of praise to His Name, and the spread of the Gospel throughout your world.
