TO THE BIBLE
1 Peter 1:1-2
“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the…Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father…Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”
LET’S TALK
Something very remarkable in all of Paul’s epistles is his consciousness of the grace and peace of God. At the beginning of each of the epistles he wrote to the churches, you will find expressions such as in Romans 1:7: “Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” The same emphasis is seen in the writings of Peter and John, as they understood the importance and power of grace and peace in the lives of God’s people. However, Peter goes a step further to reveal something striking. At the beginning of his first epistle, as seen in the theme scripture, he says, “Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”
But at the beginning of his second epistle, he clearly shows how grace and peace can be multiplied in your life—it is through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. As stated in 2 Peter 1:2, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.” Multiplied grace in your life means increased capacity, speed, and accuracy to perform. It means greater favour and excellence in your life, along with prosperity, dominion, and power over adversity. Hallelujah!
But for these things to happen, you must have the knowledge of God. The word “knowledge” here is epignosis (Greek), meaning accurate and precise knowledge—a knowledge that corresponds with what is known. How much prosperity with peace you experience is up to you. It won’t come by simply praying, “Oh God, multiply Your grace and peace in my life.” No—He has already shown you what to do: know Him more intimately. Study and meditate on His Word, and be intentional about it. Hallelujah!

PRAY
Dear Father, I thank You for the abundance of grace and peace that You have made available to me through the knowledge of Your Word. My knowledge of You deepens as I meditate on Your Word, causing Your grace and peace to be multiplied in my life, leading to increased capacity, dominion, and prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
