In the Kingdom of God, everything rides on purpose. God works on purpose. Nothing about your life is accidental or meaningless. You weren’t born merely because your father and mother came together and decided to have children. There’s a divine purpose for your life. There’s a reason God brought you into this world at such a time as this.
The most important thing in life is to discover your purpose and fulfil it. A whole lot of people go through life without ever finding out why they were born. They drift through life, distracted by endless pursuits, troubled by many things, frustrated by circumstances, unfulfilled and dissatisfied.
But when you know your purpose, your life changes; you become focused. Your decisions become clearer. Your priorities align with God’s direction for your life. You’re no longer tossed about by distractions because your heart is set on fulfilling the purpose for which God raised you.
The Lord Jesus lived this way. He knew exactly why He came. He said, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day…” (John 9:4). He stayed on course. He wasn’t distracted by opposition, applause, or human expectations. And at the end, He could boldly declare, “…It is finished…” (John 19:30). He had accomplished the purpose for which the Father sent Him.
The Apostle Paul had the same consciousness. Towards the end of his earthly ministry, he said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). What a testimony! He knew when he was done because he had lived with purpose and stayed faithful to the divine assignment God gave him. You must live with that same consciousness. Stay on course until you fulfil your divine assignment.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I rejoice at your purpose and calling upon my life. I walk in wisdom and spiritual understanding, fulfilling the destiny you’ve ordained for me. I refuse distractions and remain focused on accomplishing your will with excellence, courage and faithfulness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
