“For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s” (Romans 14:8)._*

Living for the Lord means doing what pleases Him at all times. That means your choices, thoughts, words, and actions are all for Him. When you live this way, you won’t take things too personally or stay angry for long.

The Bible tells us that Samuel became very upset with the children of Israel when they asked for a king (1 Samuel 8:4-7). But God corrected Samuel. The people “…have not rejected you,” the Lord said, “…they have rejected Me.” If anyone was to be upset, it was the Lord, not Samuel.

God helped Samuel understand not to take things personally. In the same way, when someone hurts your feelings, talk to the Lord about it instead of responding in anger. Ask yourself, “Will my reaction please the Lord?” When you live to please the Lord, your heart will stay peaceful at all times.

SCRIPTURE READING
Romans 14:8
“For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.”

LET’S PRAY
Gracious loving Father, I live for you at all times. My actions, choices, thoughts, and plans are in line with your Word, and in all I do, I treat others with love and kindness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
