…the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
As God’s child, what is in your heart matters to God. That is why the Bible tells us to fi ll our minds with things that are true, pure, and good (Philippians 4:8).
In the Bible, Cain became angry and jealous of his brother, Abel. Instead of choosing what was right, he allowed those wrong thoughts to grow in his heart. Even when God corrected him, he refused to listen, and it led him to do something very wrong (Genesis 4:3–8).
This teaches us an important lesson. Fill your heart with good thoughts, and choose what pleases God every day.
SCRIPTURE READING
1 Chronicles 28:9
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
LET’S PRAY
Thank you, precious Father, for your Word. My heart and mind are fixed on your Word, and I choose what pleases you every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
